When I first heard Mike speak at the Wedding Photography Summit here in Calgary in the beginning of the year I was really inspired by his business model and I knew he walked the talk. I promised myself that if he ever came to Canada for a workshop I’d be there. Well, little did I know my wish would come true only a few months later when Mike announced his wedding workshop in Banff with a day devoted to the marketing side of the photography business! (I think I might have done a happy dance when I got the email!). I truly believe that if you want your business to succeed you have to learn from the best in the industry and Mike by all means was at the top of my list. So needless to say I was a wee bit excited. ok ok, I was A LOT excited hahaha :).
One of the best parts about going to photography summits/conventions/get togethers is being able to network with fellow photographers and make new friends. I love meeting new people and this workshop was no exception! I am so thankful I got to spend it re-connecting with my friends and making new ones while being able to capture these images. Huge thanks to all the vendors that made this amazing workshop possible!!!
Lynn Fletcher and her talented team deserve and extra shout out for the absolutely mind blowing work with the decor and styling of this shoot!!! The models were stunning and we had so much fun driving in a limo with Gerrard, he’s the best!! In all the 6 years that I’ve lived in Calgary I have never been to Banff Springs Hotel (don’t laugh haha) and I gotta tell ya Lynn could not have picked a better venue for this workshop. Also huge thanks to our wonderful models – we couldn’t wish for a better bride and groom for our workshop!! Special thanks go out from me to Kat (Mike’s assistant), she’s a real gem and has helped me with all the questions that I had (and I had a lot) – thanks Kat!!! :))) xox
Mike’s workshop was amazing, I learnt so much in those 2 days that my head was spinning for another week – loads of great, practical information. It was also wonderful to see Mike in action, how he interracts with clients and the things he’s looking for when he’s shooting either the details or the couple. He definitely opened my eyes on a few things and I’m thankful to him for that. Mike, thanks again for the wonderful workshop, I had such a great time and I’m looking forward to shooting with you again.
