I met Shirline and Matt last year through our mutual friend (hey Leif! :)) and he could not have sent a better couple my way! Leif was actually with us at the wedding consultation and we had a blast! haha For the past few months we stayed connected through facebook so when we finally got together for the photos I was just thrilled to see them. 🙂 And they are huggers, too!! 🙂
Shirline and Matt picked 2 perfect spots for their engagement session in the North East area of Calgary – old barns and hay bales. I always get really excited when my couples pick out a location for their photos!! As it turned out our first location was on a private property and we could have been kicked out any minute; and as we were wrapping up the shoot at the second location – the field with hay – we saw a police car pull up and we were completely sure we would get ticketed – uh oh!! Thankfully the cops were writing a ticket to another car for speeding – phew! Seriously, every photo session is so much better when it is accompanied by an adrenalin rush.:) haha
I’m super excited about your wedding in July, guys, and cannot wait to celebrate with you!
Many thanks to my wonderful assistant Anna for helping me with lights and braving the gusts of wind and at some point of time almost flying away with my reflector. :):) And thanks for snapping a few photos of me shooting, I love having those – they’re rare! :))
We probably missed at least 10 planes before we got this one!! 🙂 As they say, 10th time is a charm! hehe
and a few behind the scenes (these are always fun for other photographers to see):
that little ledge was so flimsy, I don’t know how Matt and Shirline were able to stand on it for a few photos but they did! I have the best couples.:)
